Our residential lighting design specialists create technically and aesthetically beautiful environments. We can provide you with a custom design to meet your brief and requirements.
A lighting design project is a creative and collaborative process that typically begins with an in-depth discussion during which we explore and define the project brief. We may review other lighting schemes you like, and we discuss objectives and priorities, lifestyle within the home, mood and ambience, day into night transitions, architectural features and accents, energy efficiency, and how the lighting scheme will integrate with the operation of the home.
Based on the brief your design consultant will then get creative and prepare a draft design and associated documentation:
- Lighting layout
- Schedule of fittings and accessories
- Lux calculations and 3D renders (when applicable)
- Dimming control schedule
- Detailed quotation
We happily work directly with you the homeowner or your architect, interior designer or lead consultant.

Travis Russell
Travis discovered a love for high end lighting design and the positive difference a well-considered lighting scheme can make to a property early in his career. Today after seventeen years in the industry, eight with ALTI, he is a senior project designer and lighting consultant.
“Lighting design and implementation is a fascinating space in which to work. Technological advances and design innovation, particularly in recent years, means there are always new and exciting options to consider. It means we all need to keep up with our ongoing product training and professional development courses to make sure we are offering clients the very latest in lighting designs and technologies.
I think the key to creating an amazing design is to take the time to really understand the client’s brief. What type of people will live in this home? What are their aesthetic preferences? What are their practical requirements but also how they will live in the home? What mood and ambience will enhance their lifestyle?”

Tara Pollard
Tara’s past experience working with builders and her qualifications in both interior and lighting design means she has a particular appreciation for the vital role lighting design plays in influencing the mood of a space, and the contribution it can make to the aesthetic presentation of your property.
“I really enjoy working with my client to get inside their brief and, more than the functional requirement, to understand what they imagine. Then working with them to develop a lighting scheme that brings that imagination to life, is just a joy… seeing their delight is my passion, it’s as simple as that.”
While Tara has a special interest in traditional lighting and in particular art deco, her portfolio of past work showcases innovative lighting designs across a range of both contemporary and traditional styles including most recently North Cottesloe Residence, Brighton Residence and Coastal Cottesloe Residence.
